This article outlines the procedures and options available for handling a Zanda account in the unfortunate event of an account holder’s or a practitioner's death. In the event of the death of a business owner or a practitioner, there are several steps to ensure the continuation or proper closure of their Zanda account or profile.
In this article:
- Executor Accessing the Account
- Continuing or Pausing the Account
- Dealing with Multiple Practitioners
- Zanda Support and Billing Adjustments
Scenario 1: Executor Accessing the Account
-
- Export Data: Follow the guide in Exporting Your Data.
- Account Closure: Refer to Closing, Storing, or Pausing Your Account for closure procedures.
- Pre-Arranged Access: If the owner pre-arranged for an executor to access their account, the executor can log in and follow these steps:
- No Pre-Arrangement: If no prior arrangement was made, the following documents are required:
- Proof of executorship.
- Identity document matching the executor's name.
- Proof of the account holder's death.
- After verification, ownership is transferred to allow account access.
Scenario 2: Continuing or Pausing the Account
- Storage Mode: An account can be placed in Storage Mode, where information remains accessible and exportable, but no new appointments can be scheduled.
- Account Transfer: Transfer the account to another individual for continued operation.
- Closure: Close the account, rendering information inaccessible and subject to deletion after 12 months.
- Legal Requirements: To authorize these changes, the following documents are needed:
- Death Certificate of the account holder.
- Documentation establishing the executor's identity.
- Government-issued ID of the executor.
- Nominee Appointment: Executors can appoint a nominee to make decisions regarding the account. A signed letter from the executor is required for nominee appointment.
Scenario 3: Dealing with Multiple Practitioners
- Inactive Practitioner: If one practitioner passes, but others continue, the deceased practitioner’s calendar can be made inactive.
- Archiving Clients: Clients of the deceased practitioner can be archived or transferred to other practitioners.
